Farideh Weissi, a civil activist from Dehgolan was released on bail on Sunday, March 25.

She had been on hunger strike at the Sanandaj Correctional Centre in Sanandaj since March 9 in protest to the continued uncertainty about her situation, yesterday Farida Weissi was released from the Sanandaj Correctional Center on a bail of 300 million tomans after a six-day hunger strike. However, her husband “Sirus Abbasi” is still being questioned at the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj.”, an informed source has told Kurdistan Human Rights Network of Kurdistan (KHRN).

The source added that Sirus Abbasi had been deprived of contact with his family since his arrest except for a number of brief phone calls.

They were detained by security forces at their workplace Zanest school) in Dehgolan on the evening of January 14. Azad Abbasi, Sirus’s brother and other environmental activists, who had been taken to the Dehgolan Intelligence Service, were also detained by the security forces.

Azad Abbasi was released on March 08 on a bail of 200 million tomans upon the completion of the investigation related to her case.
