The Islamic Republic of Guards Corps (IRGC) has banned several ranchers residing in Salmas from animal husbandry in mountain ranges on the pretext of the cooperation of a number of their family members with Kurdish parties,
Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that IRGC forces have announced that two Kurdish farmers called Ali Mamdadi and Pezhman Mamedi (residing in the village of Dirak of Salmas) are no longer entitled to use range lands in this area. The reason for this ban, which was announced in the past few days, is the cooperation of two family members, one sister and one brother, with one of the Kurdish parties.
Although in the past obtaining a permit from the Natural Resources Department of this region was a sufficient condition for the use of the pastures of this area in the past, but it is practically impossible to exploit these pastures without the consent of IRGC forces in recent years.
It should be noted that IRGC forces have severely restricted livestock transport in these mountainous areas in recent years and refuse to issue licenses for more ruminants.
