Kurdish civilian Rahman Khan-Ahmadi has been transferred to Orumiyeh Central Prison on 19 May, after being interrogated for one month in the detention centre of the Ministry of Intelligence, sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN). Khan-Ahmadi, who comes from Orumiyeh, was arrested by the city’s security forces in mid-April on charges of “collaboration with Salafi religious groups”.

Following the new wave of arrests of Kurdish civilians, six other Kurdish people were arrested by security forces in the past few days in the cities of Bukan, Mahabad and Oshnavieh (Shno in Kurdish) in the province of West Azerbaijan.
