Iran: Prisoner executed over murder-related charges

Iran executed today the death penalty of a prisoner in northwestern Sanandaj, Kurdistan province. Sivan Hosseini, a civilian sentenced to "retribution in kind" (qisas) on charges of "premeditated murder", has been executed in Sanandaj Central Prison. Hosseini, 35, was arrested about four years ago on the accusation of murdering his wife. He was a father of two from the Shiyan village of Sanandaj.
