The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has stationed forces in many regions near the villages in Bukan, West Azerbaijan province, after clashes broke out between the IRGC and a Kurdish party near Elmabad village on 24 July.

Reportedly, the IRGC has taken tight security measures in the area.

Yesterday, the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency reported that the Hamzeh Seyyed al-Shohada base of the IRGC had said that their forces had killed two members of a Kurdish party and had wounded another in a clash.

The IRGC also said they arrested three Kurdish civilians in the area.

Villagers from the area told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) that “On the evening of Saturday, 24 July, the IRGC forces were stationed around the Elmabad village of Bukan and clashed with forces of one of the Kurdish parties for several hours. The clash stopped after a few hours and continued the next morning.”

According to sources, the IRGC drones have been patrolling the villages in the past few days, and its forces took tight security measures with their significant presence in the area.

The sources further said that the IRGC violently detained at least three civilians near the location of the clashes. They transferred the civilians to the detention centre of the IRGC in Orumiyeh.

It is said that the Kurdish party in question was the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK).
