The fate of the detained Kurdish artists Hossein Safamanesh, Khabat Fadaei and Saman Yassin remains unknown after Iranian security forces arrested them in the past few days over their support of the ongoing widespread protests across the country.

The security forces detained Safamanesh on 6 October in Tehran and took him to an undisclosed location.

The Kurdish artist from Kermanshah, western Iran, posted a statement on his Instagram account, announcing that he had terminated his cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the state-controlled media corporation Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Also, on 2 October, security forces arrested Yassin, a poet and rapper from Kermanshah, in the street in Tehran and took him to an undisclosed location.

Yassin, too, had voiced support for the public protests through his personal Instagram page.

In addition, on 26 September, Kurdish artist Fadaei, who comes from Sanandaj, Kurdistan province, was also arrested by the security forces. So far no information has been obtained about his fate.

There is no information about the whereabouts and charges against these three arrested artists, yet.
