Media activists Fardin Mostafaei and Nasser Karimi were summoned and interrogated today by the Cyber Police, also known as FATA, in response to a complaint filed by the governor of Saqqez in Kurdistan Province.

Mostafai, a journalist and the administrator of the Saqqez Rudaw Telegram channel, and Karimi, the administrator of the Dangi Shar Telegram channel, were interrogated for allegedly “spreading falsehoods and disturbing public opinion”.

The summoning and subsequent interrogation of these media activists is believed to be directly related to their dissemination of news about the challenges faced by Saqqez residents through their respective Telegram channels.
