A group of at least 10 death row prisoners were today transferred to solitary confinement inside Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj in preparation for their executions.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that this group includes prisoners Hossein Havasi, Rasoul Teymouri and Bahman Fathollahi, as well as seven other prisoners whose identities remain unknown.

Havasi and Teymouri, both from Kuhdasht in Lorestan Province, were previously arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death.

Hossein Havasi’s brother, Moslem Havasi, was also executed in the same prison on 18 July this year.

Fathollahi, from Tehran, was arrested on similar charges about four years ago and subsequently sentenced to death.
