Farzad Khademi, a prisoner convicted of “premeditated murder”, was executed today in Saqqez Prison, in Kurdistan Province.
He was transferred to solitary confinement on 23 April in preparation for his execution.
Khademi, from of Saqqez, was arrested in July 2020 and sentenced to death under the Islamic law of qisas, or retribution-in-kind, which gives the victim’s family the right to retaliate.
