Hazhir Mahmoudpour, a young kolbar from Javanrud, Kermanshah Province, was fatally shot by border guards in the border areas of Nowsud, Kermanshah Province, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

On the evening of 4 June, a group of kolbars were targeted by border guards’ gunfire, leaving Mahmoudpour seriously injured.

He was taken to Ghods Hospital in Paveh, Kermanshah Province, but died this morning despite efforts to save him.

According to statistics compiled by KHRN, in May, six kolbars – Hemin Ahmadi, Jalal Sohrabi, Ata Rostampour, Salar Ahmadi, Vahed Ghaderpour and Sina Rasoulzadeh – were killed by Iranian border guards’ gunfire in the border areas of Saqqez, Baneh, and Sardasht in the Kurdistan and West Azerbaijan provinces.
