The Ministry of Intelligence and the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) summoned and detained four teachers and activists in Kamyaran, Kurdistan province, in the past few days.
The names of these teachers are Hesam Mehdizadeh, Edris Mehdizadeh, Farzin Movaffaghi and Khabat Mozaffari.
Hesam Mehdizadeh and his brother Edris Mehdizadeh were released on bail after two days of detention, but Movaffaghi and Mozaffari are still held in custody.
In addition, on 26 September, Leila Abbasi, an artist and member of the Educators’ Trade Union in Bijar, Kurdistan province, was released on bail.
Abbasi was arrested by the security forces on 20 September.
The statistics collected by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) from at least two sources in each city indicate that more than 675 activists and civilians were arrested in the cities across Iranian Kurdistan.
There are at least 18 minors among those arrested.
It is important to note that due to the outages and severe disruptions in the internet connections and the highly secure atmosphere in the cities, it is very difficult to obtain accurate information on the detainees.
