The Islamic Revolutionary Court of Marivan has sentenced two Kurdish men to prison terms, accusing them of allegedly “collaborating with the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK)”.

The court sentenced Meraj Mortazaei to one year and Hiwa Azizpour to five years in prison, sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Mortazaei and Azizpour – both from Deyvaznav village of Sarvabad in Kurdistan province – were officially informed of the verdict on 15 March.

Mortazaei had been arrested by security forces on 28 July 2020 and Azizpour on 9 September. They were released on bail after two months of interrogation at the detention centre of the Intelligence Office of Marivan.
