Ismail Mostakhdem, a prisoner from Bukan sentenced to “retribution”, lost his life at the Tabriz hospital yesterday. He was sent to the hospital from Tabriz’s prison yesterday due to the worsening of his cancer. Mostakhdem was held at the prison for about 12 years.

A reliable source in Bukan told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network that this prisoner recently obtained the consent of the victim’s family after 12 years and he was supposed to be released in the coming days.

According to this source, Mostakhdem who had been diagnosed with lung cancer in prison, he had been deprived of proper medical treatment during those years. Finally, just a few days before his release, he was taken to a hospital in Tabriz due to his deteriorating condition but he died due to the advancement of his cancer.
