Turkish authorities released Yalda Abbasi, a Kurdish artist from northern Khorasan who was arrested on Dec 6, 2018 by Turkish police on arrival at Istanbul Ataturk Airport.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that the artist flew to Turkey on the evening of December 06 to attend a cultural event on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Mezopotamya Cultural Centre but she was arrested at Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul.

Yalda Abbasi was interrogated for several hours on charges of cooperating with a Kurdish party before being transferred to a court in Istanbul, Bakkabruka. She was released on Friday, December 07, and she is still in Istanbul.

The concert of this artist will be held on Sunday as planned in collaboration with the Mezopotamya Art Centre in Istanbul.
