Iranian security forces have raided the office of the Bashur Publication and the house of its director Mohammad Moradi Nassari in the western province of Ilam on 7 February.

The Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officers searched Nassari’s office and confiscated some of his personal belongings, including his cell phone and computer.

Simultaneously, officers of this military-security institution searched Nasseri’s house without a court order or explaining the reason for the search.

Reportedly, the Intelligence Organisation of the IRGC has threatened Kurdish writers and poets in Ilam over the phone in recent days.

Bashur Publication was established in 2018 by Nassari, who is a writer and translator, in Ilam.

It has published nearly 100 books in the Kurdish language in the field of literature and is one of the well-known publishing houses in Iranian Kurdistan.

Each year, the publication awards an award entitled “Bashur” to prominent figures in the Kurdish language and literature.

The managers of the publication house have always been under pressure from the Intelligence Organisation of the IRGC in the past three years.

In 2019, the security forces carried out another search in the office of the publication house.
