A Kurdish civilian named Shapour Moradi was transferred to the central prison of Sanandaj, Kurdistan province, on 10 August, after being interrogated at the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre.

Security forces arrested Moradi at his workplace on Ghafour Street in Sanandaj on 7 June and took him to the city’s intelligence ministry.

During this period, he was denied the right to have a lawyer and receive family visits.

The civilian has been accused of “acting against national security” through cooperation with one of the Kurdish opposition parties.
