A 23-year-old Kurdish civilian named Shadman Ahmadi lost his life under torture in the police detention centre in Dehgolan, Kurdistan province, on 8 December.
The civilian was arrested on 8 December on the accusation of participating in popular protests in Dehgolan.
A few hours later, his family was informed that he had died in detention.
Ahmadi’s family said that their son was killed by police forces as a result of torture.
One of the Telegram channels affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Kurdistan has implicitly confirmed the arrest of the civilian on charges of “destroying public property, creating intimidation and disrupting public order” during the popular protests in Dehgolan.
Since the beginning of the nationwide uprising of the people of Iran after the government murder of Zhina Mahsa Amini, forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran killed at least 115 Kurdish civilians, including 12 children, in public protests in the cities and villages of Kurdistan and other regions of the country.
