Labour activist Maryam Sadeghi was temporarily released on bail on 3 November after two weeks of detention in the Juvenile Detention Centre of Sanandaj, Kurdistan province.

Sadeghi is a member of the Coordinating Committee for Assistance to the Establishment of Trade Unions.

On 23 October, security forces detained the activist at her house in Sanandaj and took her to a security detention centre.

Reportedly, Sadeghi’s arrest took place after she attended the funeral of Asiyeh Azimi – mother of two Komalah fighters who had lost their lives – on 16 October.

Before Sadeghi, the security police in Saqqez, Kurdistan province, arrested another labour activist Osman Esmaeili on 20 October on similar charges.

They had transferred him to the detention centre of this security institution in Sanandaj.

On 28 October, Esmaeili was temporarily released from Sanandaj Central Prison on a bail of 50 million Iranian Tomans – nearly 2,000 USD.
