Amjad Amini, the father of Jina Mahsa Amini, has been summoned and interrogated by the Ministry of Intelligence in Saqqez, Kurdistan Province, four times in the past two weeks.

A relative of the Amini family revealed that the most recent summons was on 11 September, during which Mr Amini was questioned for one hour.

During the interrogation, the relative told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), the interrogators pressured Amjad Amini to deny a recent message circulated by the family announcing plans for a commemoration on Jina’s anniversary.

The interrogators also threatened Jina’s father, warning that any family member engaging in activities, sharing messages on social media, or attending Jina’s grave during the anniversary would result in the arrest of their other child, Ashkan.

A few days ago, Jina’s parents, Mozhgan Eftekhari and Amjad Amini, jointly posted a message on their Instagram account, saying: “Like any other grieving family, we will gather at the grave of our beloved daughter Jina (Mahsa) Amini on the anniversary of her martyrdom to hold traditional and religious ceremonies.”

Earlier, on 5 September, security forces arrested Jina’s uncle, Safa Aeli, in Saqqez.

Despite the family’s persistent efforts, including several visits to the court and the Ministry of Intelligence office in Saqqez, no information has been received on Aeli’s whereabouts.
