Faryad Ghaderi, a former political prisoner and resident of the village of Kulich in Sarvabad, Kurdistan Province, was arrested on 10 March after being summoned to the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province.

Ghaderi was taken to an undisclosed location and the reasons behind his detention remain unknown, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

KHRN has also learned that Ghaderi’s bank accounts were frozen at the end of last summer on the orders of the security services.

Prior to this, the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) arrested Ghaderi on 3 October 2019 and interrogated him for four months in a high-security detention facility in Sanandaj.

After the interrogation period, he was taken to Sanandaj prison and released on bail in May 2020.
