Kolbars Ata Hosseini and Mohammad Ganjeh lost their lives in recent days after they were shot by Iranian border guards in separate incidents in Kermanshah and West Azerbaijan Provinces.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned Hosseini, a 32-year-old father of one child from the village of Balehbezan in Paveh, Kermanshah Province, was seriously wounded by border guard’s gunfire in the border area of Nowsud, Kermanshah Province.

Hosseini succumbed to his injuries in Taleghani Hospital in Kermanshah on the evening of 14 March. Despite efforts to save him, he suffered brain death and passed away due to the severity of his injuries.

Meanwhile, in Piranshahr, West Azerbaijan Province, the body of Ganjeh, a 35-year-old father of one, was discovered by local residents on 13 March.

Ganjeh had gone missing on 11 March while working as a kolbar in the border area of Petaki in Piranshahr.

After two days of searching, locals found his body, shot and abandoned by border guards.
