Seyvan Dast-Afkan, a 31-year-old kolbar, was fatally shot by Iranian border guards on 17 April at the Tateh Pass in the Hawraman region of Sarvabad, Kurdistan Province.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that the incident occurred when Dast-Afkan and a group of kolbars were targeted by border guards at close range and without warning.

Dast-Afkan was a father of one and was from the village of Darreh Peyman in Marivan, Kurdistan Province.

In the past four weeks, five kolbars have been killed by Iranian border guards in the border areas of Nowsud, Kermanshah Province, and Baneh, Kurdistan Province. Another five kolbars have died from frostbite, heart attacks and falls from mountain heights.
