Four Kurdish civilians from Piranshahr and Mahabad in West Azerbaijan Province have been arrested by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and taken to an undisclosed location, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.
On 9 July, Omid Ahmadi from Piranshahr was arrested by security forces after being summoned to the local court.
Later that same evening, intelligence officers in Piranshahr raided the family home of Esmaeil Maroufi, a retired teacher, and arrested him without a warrant.
The following night, 10 July, intelligence officers in Mahabad arrested Soleyman Mahmoudi (also known as Ghassem Chomalani) at the entrance to the city.
At the same time, these forces raided and searched the family home of civilian Ali Danesh in Mahabad before arresting him.
Details of the charges against these individuals and their current whereabouts remain unknown.
