Four Kurdish civilians from Mahabad and Oshnavieh in West Azerbaijan Province have been arrested by security forces in recent days and taken to an undisclosed location.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that on 4 September, Loghman Zangi and his son Siamand Zangi were arrested in the village of Kani Sorkh, while Diako Azizi was arrested in the village of Bab Khalawi, both in Oshnavieh.

A day earlier, on 3 September, Adel Kakeh, a civilian from the village of Doustali in Mahabad, was also arrested by security forces.

These arrests were made without warrants, and there has been no official information about the detainees’ current whereabouts or any charges they may face.

The arrests come at a time of heightened tension in the region, with seven people, including two members of families seeking justice, arrested in Mahabad and Oshnavieh in the past two days ahead of the upcoming anniversary of the Women, Life, Freedom anti-government uprising.
