A Kurdish journalist detained during the ongoing wave of arrests in western Iran, has been released on bail on 4 February, sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Centre.
The editor-in-chief of the weekly published Agrin Rozh, Mahmoud Mahmoudi, had been arrested by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence in Sanadaj on 31 January, and taken to the detention centre of this intelligence agency.
Mahmoudi was released on 200 million Iranian Tomans – nearly 4,750 USD – of bail, said the source.
Mahmoudi has been reportedly charged with “propaganda against the state”. He was among those who issued an open letter last week calling for the release of detained Kurdish activists.
