Authorities at Iran’s Marivan prison have released three Kurdish civilians detained during the recent wave of arrests in the northwestern Kurdistan province.

Civilians Edris Bahramian, Mohammad Ahmadi, and Farid Derakhshani were temporarily released on 16 December on a 500 million Iranian Toman – nearly 20,000 USD – bail each.

The civilians who come from the Ney village of Marivan were held in detention for one month.

On 11 November, the Ministry of Intelligence launched a fresh wave of arrests of Kurdish civilians and activists in Kurdistan province.

In the scope of these arrests, security forces detained Bahramian, Ahmadi, and Derakhshani on 13 November and took them to the detention centre of the Ministry of Intelligence.

So far, the ministry has detained at least 42 people in Baneh, Saqez, Marivan, and Sanandaj.

In the past few days, the three civilians were transferred from the detention centre of the intelligence ministry to the city prison after their interrogation ended.
