Iranian Ministry of Intelligence in Kurdistan province has detained at least 11 more people in Baneh, Saqqez, and Marivan as part of the recent arrest wave of Kurdish civilians and activists.
Including these detentions, in the last few days alone, the intelligence ministry arrested at least 28 Kurdish Baneh, Saqqez, and Marivan.
Security forces took the detainees to the intelligence ministry’s central detention facility in Sanandaj, Kurdistan province.
Reportedly, security forces in Baneh have used Red Crescent ambulances to detain and transport civilians to security detention centres.
Three of the 11 detained were first summoned to the ministry’s office in Saqqez in the past few days.
Their names are Jamal Azizi, Saman Khosravi, and Ayoub Minaei, who come from the Pir Omran village of Saqqez.
Azizi and Khosravi were released after several hours of interrogation while Minaei remains in custody.
Also, the ministry detained yesterday two others named Kurdo Hosseinpour and Ali [last name unknown yet]; one in Baneh and the other in one of the city’s villages.
The other six civilians were detained in the Ney village of Marivan. The names of these civilians are Keyvan Minoui, Farid Derakhshani, Edris Bahramian, Mohammad Ahmadi, Abdolrahman Afshar, and Abdolrahman Ashtak.
Yesterday, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) released a report on the detention and identities of 19 Kurdish civilians and activists detained by security forces in Baneh and Saqqez.
