Yesterday, a group of Iranian-Kurdish citizens met with the families of the political prisoners who were hanged in May by Islamic Republic authorities to express their sympathies to the families for their loss and cherish the memory of their victims.
Five political prisoners, Farzad Kamangar, Ali Heydarian, Farhad Vakili, Mehdi Eslamian and Shirin Alam-Holi, were hanged at Evin prison in Tehran on May 9, 2010. They were wrongly accused of “enmity against God” for carrying out “army acts” and convicted of this vaguely worded charge.
According to the report of Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) in presence of undercover agents, also known as “Lebas Shakhsi,” kurdish political activist and citizens visited the family of Farzad Kamangar, Ali heydarian and Farhad Vakili in Sanandaj.
Seven years past form the execution of five political prisoners without warning their families and have so far Iranian authorities refused and prevented to release and delivery of their bodies to the families for burial.
The Kurdish prisoners, were executed by hanging on the morning of May 9, 2010, in Tehran’s Evin prison, said a statement released by the Tehran Public Prosecutor’s office.
The execution of these prisoners had a wild internal reactions and was followed by a province-wide strike all across Kurdistan cities.
