The security forces in Kermanshah, Javanrood, Ravansar, and Marivan have visited a number of families of those killed in the November protests offering registering their dead beloved ones as martyrs of the Islamic Republic, a source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).
According to statistics compiled by KHRN, at least 24 Kurdish civilians have so far been confirmed dead in the cities of Javanrood, Kermanshah, Sanandaj, Marivan, Karaj, and Tehran during recent protests hit Iran against a suffen increase in the petrol price.
Security forces in meeting with the victims’ families have insisted that the deaths of their children were “accidental” and are seeking to appease them so that the family can be supported by the Martyr Foundation. However, most of these families have rejected the offer.
Meanwhile, the security forces have threatened the relatives of the victims not to do any interviews with media and defending human rights organizations about their victims.
