Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that Shahram Safari, a journalist and director of the Rawejpress Telegram Channel, has been sentenced to 91 days in prison on charges of “spreading lies and disturbing public opinion” by publishing statistics on the number of civilians suffering from Covid-19 disease.
Shahram Safari, from Sarpol-e-Zahab in Kermanshah province, was summoned to court in April this year on a complaint from Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences but he was later released on bail pending trial.
