Iranian police shot dead Kurdish civilian Ali Nazari in the Jafarabad neighbourhood of Kermanshah, Kermanshah province, on 26 July.

Nazari, 40, had previously been convicted and ordered to pay blood money for an assault charge.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that police officers chased him at the main intersection of Jafarabad neighbourhood at 20:00 local time on 26 July.

The officers shot Nazari multiple times at close range in the head, chest and other parts of his body, killing him instantly.

Nazari’s body has been transferred to the Kermanshah Forensic Medicine Department and has not yet been released to his family.
