Iranian border forces have shot and injured three kolbars in the Nowsud border area in Kermanshah province, western Iran, on 8 March.

The forces of the Nowsud Border Regiment opened fire on a convoy of kolbars in the evening of 8 March, wounding kolbars Pouria Abdolrahmaninezhad, Mansour Abdi, and Pezhman Abdi.

These individuals, who come from Salas-e Babajani in Kermanshah province, have been working as kolbars in the border areas of Nowsud due to unemployment.

According to statistics compiled by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), in February, at least four kolbars lost their lives and nine were injured in the provinces of West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, and Kermanshah.

At least four of these kolbars were injured following shootings by Iranian border forces.

In addition, a Kurdish tradesman was shot and killed by Iranian police in the border areas of the Kurdistan province.
