Iranian military forces stationed in the border area of the village of Hani Garmaleh in Paveh, Kermanshah province, opened fire on a group of kolbars on 6 April, severely wounding a young kolbar from the village.

Reportedly, the incident raised tension between the protesting villagers and the border guards and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for several hours.

Many police and IRGC forces entered the border village to disperse the protesters.

The injured kolbar, known as Diyar son of Mohammad Towfigh, was taken to Paveh city hospital for treatment.
