A Kurdish political prisoner in Orumiyeh Central Prison was transferred from solitary confinement to the prison ward.

“On Sunday, October 19, Mostafa Davoodi, a Kurdish political prisoner detained in ward 12 (section dedicated to political prisoners) in Orumiyeh Prison, was transferred to the prison ward after spending four days in solitary confinement. On Sunday, October 14, this prisoner was transferred to solitary confinement for unknown reasons,” an informed source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

“The prisoner had been deprived of the right to visit and contact his family during the time he was in solitary confinement.”, the source said.

Mostafa Davoodi, a political prisoner from Mahabad, was arrested in 2009 and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad on charges of membership in the Kurdistan Free Alliance. This political prisoner has already served 8 years and 8 months in prisons at Mahabad and Orumiyeh.
