On Sunday, November 2, a Kurdish civilian called ‘Dler Nasri’ was arrested and sent to prison in this city to serve a one-year sentence after being summoned to Branch 4 of the Sanandaj Court’, an informed source told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

Dler Nasri, from Tangisar village of Sanandaj, was arrested by the Intelligence Unit of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in early October last year and was interrogated for two weeks in Shahramfar security detention centre. He was released on a 250 million Tomans bail after the end of the interrogation period.

Late last year, the Kurdish civilian was sentenced to a total of two years in prison by Branch 1 of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, headed by Judge Saeedi, on charges of “collaboration with a Kurdish opposition party” and “leaving the country illegally.” After contesting this sentence, the case was referred to the Court of Appeals and the sentence of one-year imprisonment for leaving the country illegally was converted into a fine while the remaining 1 year of his sentence was upheld.
