In the past two days, at least 11 Kurdish students and civil rights activists have been detained and taken to unknown locations by security forces in the cities of Karaj, Mahabad, Rabat and Marivan. These people have been identified as Farzad Samani, Sohaib Badrouj, Shapol Khezri, Darya Talabani, Salar Rahavi, Sirwan Nouri, Afshin Mam Ahmadi, Bahman Yousefzadeh, Farhad Musapour, Fereydoun Musapour and Dana Samadi.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that on Friday, January 08, security forces in the city of Marivan arrested an environmental activist named Dana Samadi and transferred him to an unknown location.
Moreover, according to another report, on January 09, the forces of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC) went to the Kharazmi dormitory in Karaj and arrested two students, Farzad Samani from Mahabad and Sohaib Badrouj from Marivan before transferring them to an unknown location.
Security forces in Mahabad have also arrested five civil rights activists, namely Shapol Khezri, Darya Talabani, Salar Rahavi, Sirvan Nouri and Afshin Mam Ahmadi.
A source in the city of Rabat in West Azerbaijan Province also reported the arrest of three civil society rights activists, Bahman Yousefzadeh Farhad Musapour and Fereydoun Musapour.
Despite the follow-up of the detainees’ families, no information has been obtained over their whereabouts and the charges against them.
