Kurdish political prisoners Mozhgan Kavousi, Sakineh Parvaneh, and Basam Moradi who went on hunger strikes in the last two weeks in Tehran, Mashhad, and Kamyaran prisons, have ended their strikes.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that imprisoned Kurdish writer and researcher Mozhgan Kavousi has ended her hunger strike after 10 days on 25 May. She had gone on a limited hunger strike on 16 May to protest against the discretionary treatments towards prisoners by prison authorities and the judiciary.
Sakineh Parvaneh, another Kurdish political prisoner who had been on a hunger strike since 22 May to protest against her continued detention in Mashhad Central Prison and her denial of access to medical services, has ended her strike after four days. Reportedly, the security officials of Mashhad Prison have threatened the prisoner that if she did not stop her hunger strike, she would be prosecuted again and transferred to a psychiatric hospital.
Similarly, political prisoner Basam Moradi has ended his hunger strike on the night of 29 May after being transferred from Kamyaran Prison to Sanandaj Central Prison. The political prisoner had gone on a hunger strike on 25 May to protest against being denied of his basic rights and non-compliance of prison authorities with the principle of segregation of crimes.
