The Turkish army has killed two Kurdish kolbars named Sozdar Ahmadi and Alishan Ahmadi in the border area between Turkey and Iran’s Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan province, on 20 September.

The kolbars lost their lives after the Turkish army attacked a group of kolbars using unmanned aerial vehicles. The attack also left some kolbars injured.

Reportedly, Turkish armed forces transported the bodies of the two killed kolbars to a Turkish border town.

Furthermore, Turkish military officers detained eight other kolbars, some of whom were wounded in the attack.

A family member of Sozdar Ahmadi and Alishan Ahmadi confirmed the news to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

“The kolbars, all from the village of Kuran [in Orumiyeh], were on their way to Turkey and were attacked by a drone. The bodies of the 21-year-old Sozdar and 18-year-old Alishan are still in Turkey. The rest of the group are held in detention by the Turkish army.”

Last year, Iranian and Turkish border forces killed three other kolbar members of the family, the source added.

These kolbars were Shamzin Ahmadi, 19, Arsalan Ahmadi, 28, and Seraj Ahmadi, 37.
