A one billion tomans bail has been set for the temporary release of Fatemeh Davand by Judge Javad Ghulami, a close relative of Davand has told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).
Fatemeh Davand was arrested in Saqqez for taking part in protests against the rise in gasoline prices in Iran in November 2019. She is currently held at the Women’s Ward of Orumiyeh Central Prison.
According to the source, security forces surrounded the house of one of Fatemeh Davoud’s relatives in the city of Saqqez with two cars on the evening of November and arrested her. She was then transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Orumiyeh.
“The security forces put pressure on her for several days to make forced confessions about cooperation with an opposition Kurdish party. She was not given any food and she was kept in solitary confinement for a period of time. “ the source said.
She finally attended a TV interview broadcasted by the Islamic Republic of Iran.”, the source added.
Davand has been interrogated at the Orumiyeh for a month and she was only able to visit her three children for several minutes during her detention.
The detainee was transferred to Orumiyeh Central prison after a month while being promised to be provisionally released on a bail of 500 million tomans. However, Judge Ghulami ordered a bail of one billion tomans instead. In response to a request by Davand’s family for reduction of the bail amount, the court has announced that her bail warrant has been changed to temporary custody warrant.
