Taregh Nazari, a kolbar from Salas-e Babajani in Kermanshah Province, was killed by direct fire from Iranian border guards on the evening of 2 October in the border areas of Nowsud, Kermanshah Province, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

The 39-year-old father of three was shot without warning and at close range while working as a kolbar.

The incident took place when Iranian border guards opened fire on a group of kolbars without warning.

Nazari’s body has been transferred to the Forensic Medicine Department in Paveh, Kermanshah Province, but the authorities have yet to return his body to his family.
