Iran has executed at least five more prisoners in the past month in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan province, and Sanandaj, Kurdistan province.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) had reported on 27 July that two women were executed in the two cities.
Reportedly, on 30 June, two Azerbaijani-Turkic prisoners identified as Omid Ebrahimi and Salar Nasiri were executed in Orumiyeh Central Prison.
On 28 June, the two prisoners were moved to solitary confinement along with Shaker Behrouz, a Kurdish political prisoner sentenced to death.
Ebrahimi and Nasiri, who come from Orumiyeh, were arrested a few years ago on the charge of “premeditated murder”. They were sentenced to “retribution in kind” (qisas).
Also, on 27 July, three other prisoners identified as Abdollah Rahimi, Hiva Ahmadi, and Payam Yazdani were executed in Sanandaj Central Prison.
Yazdani and Ahmadi were previously sentenced to “retribution in kind” (qisas) in a joint case on the charge of “premeditated murder”.
Rahimi, who was over 70 years old, was arrested about 14 years ago on the charge of “premeditated murder” and was sentenced to “premeditated murder”.
