Prisoner Farshad Abdoli was executed today in Karaj Central Penitentiary for drug-related offences.
Abdoli, a 30-year-old prisoner from Nurabad, Lorestan province, was arrested in 2019 and subsequently sentenced to death.
On 28 June, Abdoli and two other prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement for execution.
While Abdoli was executed, the executions of the other two prisoners were temporarily halted and they were returned to their ward.
