A Kurdish civilian named Ansar Adwai has been imprisoned in Marivan Prison to serve a four-month sentence.

On 16 December 2018, the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Marivan had summoned Adwai and interrogated him for 15 days. He was later released on bail.

On 6 August 2019, the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Marivan sentenced Adwai to six months in prison. It charged the civilian with “collaboration with the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK)”.

Later, a court of appeals commuted the sentence to four months in prison.
