Iran has released 15 teachers who were detained in the past week during a wave of widespread arrests of teachers.

Some four members of the Kurdistan-Marivan Teachers’ Union named Aram Mohammadi, Aram Ghaderi, Tahsin Mostafa, and Seyvan Soleimani, were released from Marivan Prison on 17 June.

These teachers were arrested by security forces in the city of Marivan on 15 June.

Also on 18 June, 10 detained teachers and members of the Kurdistan-Saqqez and Zivieh Teachers’ Union were temporarily released on bail from Saqqez prison.

These are Taher Ghaderzadeh, Anvar Farajzadeh, Salah Hosseini, Hossein Mohammadi, Keyvan Mohammadi, Khaled Sheikhi, Loghman Elah-Moradi, Aziz Marzi, Mohammad Fattahi, and Ghader Yasrabi.

Earlier, detained teacher Avat Razavi was also released on bail on 16 June.

In addition, 22 other members of the Kurdistan Teachers’ Union are currently in detention in the cities of Sanandaj, Saqqez, Divandarreh and Tehran.

Sanandaj: Salah Haji-Mirzaei, Ghias Nemati, Mohammad Reza Moradi, and Behzad Ghavami

Marivan: Shaban Mohammadi, Eskandar Lotfi, and Massoud Nikkhah
