The Branch 2 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Tehran arraigned Saleh Nikbakht, Jina Mahsa Amini’s lawyer, on 11 March, on the charge of “propaganda against the state” over his interviews with journalists abroad.

Nikbakht was later released on bail, pending trial, Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

“The lawyer, who has represented many Kurdish political prisoners, is being prosecuted for his interviews with journalists outside Iran”, said an informed source in an interview with KHRN.

The source said: “The accusations against him include interviews about the cases of his former and current clients, including Loghman Moradi and Zanyar Moradi, the Afkari family, and Jina Amini.”

KHRN contacted Nikbakht himself, but he refused to be interviewed on the matter.
