The fate of Dr Salah Ahmadi, a pharmacist from Bukan, West Azerbaijan province, who was arrested by security forces at his pharmacy in the city on 20 April, remains unknown.

Security forces arrested Ahmadi and an employee of his pharmacy, Soleiman Javid, in Bukan without providing a judicial order, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

On 21 April, Javid was released from a security detention centre in Bukan while severely tortured, but the fate of Dr Ahmadi remains unknown.

The civilian is reportedly transferred to a security detention centre in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan province.

Since his arrest, Dr Ahmadi has been denied access to legal counsel and family visits.
