In a recent wave of arrests, at least three more Kurdish civilians including Arsalan Kheyri, Mamal Sharifi and Hiva Rahnavard, were arrested by security forces in Mahabad, West Azerbaijan province, and taken to undisclosed locations.

The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that Hiva Rahnavard was arrested by security forces in the village of Bafarvan in Mahabad on 16 August.

In addition, on 15 August, security forces arrested Arsalan Kheyri and Mamal Sharifi without a warrant in the village of Bafarvan.

The charges against these civilians and the location of their detention remain undisclosed.

According to statistics compiled by the KHRN, at least 18 Kurdish civilians have been arrested by security forces in Tehran, Piranshahr, Oshnavieh, Mahabad, and Sanandaj in the past five days.

While two detainees have been temporarily released, the fate of the remaining 16 remains unknown.
