Prisoner Alireza Partovi was executed on murder-related offences in Dizel Abad Prison in Kermanshah, Kermanshah Province, on 8 November, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.
He was sentenced to death under the Islamic law of qisas, or retribution-in-kind, which gives the victim’s family the right to retaliate.
KHRN has previously reported that prisoner Farhad Aghaei was also executed on the same day in Dizel Abad Prison.
Partovi and Aghaei were transferred to solitary confinement for execution on 7 November.
Partovi, from the village of Tazehabad-e Karsavan in Sonqor, Kermanshah Province, was arrested and sentenced to death several years ago.
