Iranian authorities have scheduled the execution of at least two prisoners convicted on drug-related charges, with one identified as Karam Lorestani, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

The individuals were transferred to solitary confinement for execution on 21 December at Parsiloun Prison in Khorramabad, Lorestan Province.

On the same day, prison officials informed the families of the two prisoners that the death sentences would be carried out on 23 December.

Lorestani, a 50-year-old civilian from Borujerd in Lorestan Province, was arrested about four years ago on charges of “drug trafficking” and subsequently sentenced to death.
