The whereabouts and condition of Ramin Gorgani, a civilian arrested eight days ago by security forces in Kamyaran, Kurdistan Province, remain unknown.

Gorgani was taken into custody on 5 March and transferred to an undisclosed location, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

He made a brief phone call in recent days, confirming his detention in a security facility. However, he has been denied the right to family visits and legal counsel.

According to statistics compiled by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), at least 29 Kurdish civilians and activists have been detained on political and religious grounds in the provinces of Kurdistan, Kermanshah and West Azerbaijan over the past month.

The majority of those detained remain in detention or prison, and the fate of some is unknown. At least six of the detained civilians have been sent to prison to serve sentences.
